Building futures through education and enterprise

Community Development Initiatives International NPC (CDII) continues to play an active role in transforming rural and peri-urban communities across South Africa. In Soshanguve, CDII partnered with young entrepreneurs to establish an Early Childhood Development (ECD) centre — a project that addresses the urgent need for quality education facilities while creating real opportunities for local economic empowerment.

The young entrepreneurs in Soshanguve took the bold step of purchasing property to build the ECD centre. Limited financial resources stalled their progress. Recognising the potential impact of this initiative, CDII stepped in to provide critical support, enabling the project to move forward.

The establishment of the ECD centre will have far-reaching benefits for the Soshanguve community:

• Education access — Providing quality early childhood education to children in Soshanguve, many of whom currently have no access to early learning facilities.
• Job creation — Empowering local entrepreneurs and creating employment opportunities for teachers, caregivers, and support staff.
• Community upliftment — Strengthening the socio-economic environment by investing in education and local development — with measurable, verifiable outcomes.
